Mary “Midge” Smith was born Feb. 12, 1947, and passed away April 10, 2025, at the age of 78.

She is survived by her children, the Rev. Tracey Lynn Smith and wife, Marci, and Samuel “Sammy” Frans Smith and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Jordan Smith, Seth Smith, Abigail Smith, and Luke Smith; sister, Rita Faye Peterson, and her aunt, Kathleen Chambers (The Fav).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Truman Smith; parents, Frans and Mittie Peterson; brother, Freddy Joe Peterson, and sisters, Billie Frans Richey and Edla Anna Cole.

Pallbearers will be Jamey Kendall, Jeff Richey, Matthew Peterson, Aaron Smith, Jordan Smith, Seth Smith, and Luke Smith.

Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025, with the funeral service being held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2025, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, La. Rev. Tracey Smith will be officiating. Interment to follow at Masonic Cemetery, DeQuincy, La.
