A Westlake man has been accused of molesting a girl under the age of 13.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said that on Sunday deputies were dispatched to a home in reference to a complaint of molestation of a juvenile.

During the initial investigation, deputies were advised that a girl under the age of 13 disclosed to a family member that Justin R. Marchie, 36, was sexually abusing her.

“When deputies spoke with Marchie, he confirmed he had inappropriate sexual contact with the victim, starting in 2023 until the present,” Vincent said.

He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with sexual battery of a juvenile under the age of 13.

Judge David Ritchie set his bond at $1.5 million.

The investigation is ongoing, Vincent said. 

CPSO Deputies Michael Hamorski and Don Briscoe are the arresting deputies on the case.  CPSO SVU Detective Cory Myers is the lead investigator on the case.
