Linda Hudson

Linda Hudson, née Davis, (Alexandria, Lake Charles, La.; Knoxville, Tenn.), passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her brothers, Wayne and Bruce Davis; by her children, Mary, Meredith, Alyce, Molly and Joseph Hudson from her marriage to Joesph Samuel Hudson; by her grandchildren, Emily, Sarah and Molly Adams, Alexandra and Fitzwilliam Gontard, and Caroline Faulkner; by her son-in-law, Brian Collaer, and by her great-granddaughter, Zooey Collaer. A lifelong teacher and learner, she held degrees from McNeese State University, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in English, Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and Master of Education. She is remembered for, among other things, hosting numerous pig roasts, open houses, and New Year’s Eve parties, and for her devotion to Catholicism, in particular to the Blessed Virgin. Plans for a religious service will be made at a a later date.
