Elizabeth votes approved a property tax renewal on Saturday to support the Elizabeth Recreation District 3.

According to complete but unofficial results from the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office, the 10-year, 11.28-mill property tax for recreational facilities passed with 73 votes in favor and 27 against, representing 73 percent in support.

Voter turnout was 18 percent.

The tax will fund the maintenance, operation and improvement of recreation facilities, generateing $31,000 annually for the district.

Allen Parish voters overwhelmingly rejected all four proposed constitutional amendments.
