Dolores Ann Brignac-Miller

Dolores Ann Brignac-Miller, age 80, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully in her son’s home on Monday, March 17, 2025. Dolores was born on Monday, March 3, 1945 to Eluide Brignac and Hazel Fontenot Brignac.

Dolores was born in Ville Platte, moving to Lake Charles as a teenager, and graduated from LaGrange High School in 1964. She never met a stranger, was a devoted mother, enjoyed  gardening, cooking and baking in her spare time. Dolores was very religious, prayed the Rosary daily, and was a very active member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles. Dolores was proud to be Acadian and loved to speak the French language. She loved animals and always had a pet in her life.   

She was preceded in death by her father; mother and step-father, Lenson Ardoin, and two brothers, Joseph Doward Brignac and Tillman Brignac.

Survivors include her son, Darren Comeaux of Deer Park, Texas; daughter, Amy Ramerez (Jorge) of Los Angeles,Calif.; a sister, Elaine Moerbe of Lake Charles, and 11 grandchildren. 

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 in the Chapel of Lilies at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles. A Rosary will begin at 4 p.m. and will be led by the Catholic Daughters. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles with Father Kowtiki officiating. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of J.E. Hixson Funeral Home.
