Etta Frances Terro

Etta Frances Terro, 90, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born to her late parents, Leo and Angelina Decou on July 17, 1934 in Cecilia, La. She and her husband, Curtis, were former manager of the Siesta Motel. Etta was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Legion of Mary. In her younger years, she made Rosaries and loved spending time with her family, and loved chatting on the phone with her sisters, friends, children, and her grandchildren. Etta was a Traiteur and used her gift to help people with their needs and ailments.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Louviere (Robert) of Sulphur and Katherine Terro of Sulphur; sisters, Mary Alice LaVergne and Mary Lee Montie; 12 grandchildren, Missy Hebert, Robbie Louviere, Laticia Feemster, Brandie Myers, Kirk Langley, Maxie Tremie, Cameron Gibson, Randall Gibson, Jose’ Balderas, Ana Buller, Leigh Terro, and Dominic Laughlin; 40 great-grandchildren, along with six great-great-grandchildren.
Etta is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Curtis Terro; her parents; son, Randy Terro; daughter, Angelina Gibbs; siblings, Esta Decou, Leo “L.P.” Decou, Edith Thibodeaux, Edell DeVillier, and Genevieve Stears, along with her grandsons, Michael Matte, Darrell “D.J” Terro, and Jacob Terro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, La. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joseph Gosselin, M.S. officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss.
