Wanda  “June” Ortego

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wanda June Ortego, born on Aug. 31, 1934, and went home with the Lord on Feb. 10, 2025. She was a devoted mother, great-grandmother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend, one of the most loving and kind-hearted souls you could ever meet. Mrs. June’s family meant everything to her. She poured her heart into every moment spent with her loved ones, creating a home filled with warmth, faith, and unconditional love. As a devout Christian, she walked a life of faith and service to God, touching countless lives with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering belief in His grace. To know her was to be blessed. Whether through a simple conversation, a kind gesture, or her ever-present smile, she had a way of making everyone feel special. Those who had the privilege of meeting her walked away knowing they had encountered a truly remarkable person, a joy and a light in this world. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held on Feb. 14, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, with services beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an organization in her honor.
