Lawrence Dean Courville of Vinton, La. passed peacefully on the morning of Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. Lawrence was 67.
A retired plant manager, Lawrence was fascinated by politics, loved history both modern and ancient, and dabbled in amateur astronomy. Known as Dean by his family and friends, Lawrence entertained all with his creative and emotive storytelling. He enjoyed fishing and taking long truck rides and had a singular talent and fondness for cooking. He is preceded by his father, Andrew Courville. His survivors include Tina, his loving wife of 45 years; his mother, Betty Courville; his children, Delilah (Chris), Jeremy and Joseph (Natasha); his siblings, Howard, Risa and Brenda, and copious grandchildren who already miss their Pawpaw.
It was Lawrence’s wish to be cremated and not to have a traditional memorial service. In honor of this, his family has decided to instead hold a private gathering in his memory. They ask that any who wish to commemorate Lawrence’s life donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
