The probabilities of snow continue to increase with most of the region having an 80 percent chance or better of seeing some amount of snow.

National Weather Service Lake Charles Meteorologist Donald Jones said their office is now expecting 5-7 inches of accumulation north of Interstate 10 with 3-5 inches of accumulation along I-10 to the coast.

These numbers are likely to be revised over the next couple of days, Jones said.

Life-threatening cold temperatures and wind chills are still expected beginning Sunday night through Thursday with the coldest night being Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, Jones said.

A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for all of Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana Sunday morning and again Sunday night into Monday morning.

Additional cold advisories and/or warnings will likely be needed through much of next week, Jones said.
