It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Philip Alexander Blair, 74, of Lake Charles. Phil passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on Aug. 27, 1950, Phil was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a proud graduate of LaGrange High School, Class of 1969. His career in the aluminum industry took him across the globe as a carbon specialist with Consolidated Aluminum, Reynold’s Metals Company, Alcoa Carbon Products, and the carbon consulting company that he formed. Phil retired as the plant manager of Alcoa, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, leadership, and respect from colleagues around the world.

Phil was a man of many passions and talents. An active member of the Lake Charles community, he served on the board of the Lake Charles Country Club and spent countless joyful hours on the golf course, where his love of the game and camaraderie brought him great happiness. Beyond golf, Phil was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and adventure in hunting and fishing. His appreciation for nature and the thrill of the outdoors were matched only by his love for the time these activities allowed him to spend with family and friends.
