Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel for Billie Boudoin, 76, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024.  

The family requests visiting hours Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home. Visitation with resume on Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of her service. 

The burial will follow in Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.

Billie graduated from Sam Houston High School and Sowela Technical Institute. While attending Sowela she was hired with State Police Troop D with the public safety division. From there, she transferred to Louisiana State Agriculture division in Baton Rouge, La. and finally ended her career in Lake Charles, La. working at McNeese State University where she retired after 33 ½ years of service. 

Billie enjoyed making candy, embroidery and sewing in her free time. She found great joy in joining the Library Club of Lake Arthur, La.  

Billie is survived by one daughter, Melissa and her husband, Jeff Shoop; one brother, Glen Franklin, and one sister, Sandra Smith. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Boudoin; her parents, Eddie Franklin and Nona Haymon Franklin; brothers, Allen Franklin, Leo Franklin, Deroy Franklin, Mitchel Franklin, and  sister, Seabelle Hyatt. 

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations to LA Troopers.org be made in Billie Boudoin memory. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews Funeral home of Jennings, La.
