Two new faces added to Fenton aldermen board

Two incumbent Fenton aldermen were defeated Saturday in run-off elections to serve on the Fenton board of aldermen, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s Office.
Marella Bellard received 46 votes, or 28 percent of the votes, to take a seat on the board of aldermen. John Langley was also elected with 47 votes, or 29 percent.
Incumbent challengers Alica Scott received 41 votes, or 25 percent, with Jessie Boesa Jr. garnering 30 votes, or 18 percent.
Incumbent Manuel Alfred was re-elected to another term in the November election.
In other election results, 100 percent of the voters in Jeff Davis Parish Gravity Drainage District 5 approved the renewal of a 10-year, 10.99 millage. All 12 voters cast ballots in favor of the measure.
The millage is expected to generate $25,500 annually for the construction, maintenance and operation of gravity drainage works within the district.
Voters in Jeff Davis Fire Protection District No. 5 approved the continuation of a 10-year, 5.18 mill for construction, improvement, maintenance and operation of fire protection facilities and equipment. The proposition passed 92 – 34 or 73 percent.
The millage, which is expected to generate $158,850 a year, reflects a .16 mills increase due to reappraisal
Parishwide Jeff Davis Parish voters approved all four proposed constitutional amendments.
