Linzi Reighnee Gott, 45, went to meet her Lord and Savior at 3:31 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024 after the most courageous battle with cancer.
She was born to her parents, Sandra Dee Humbles and Michael Leslie Gott on Oct. 15, 1979. Linzi attended Sam Houston High School and Alexandria High School where she was a three time state and national powerlifting champion.
Linzi was a fighter until her very last breath, she was a beautiful soul put on this earth for a short time to be so many things to so many people. She was a friend, a sister, and a mother to anyone in need. She had a love for cooking, canning, a home remedy for just about anything imaginable, and spent her final years living on her dream farm built by the love of her life, fiancé, John Ira Murphy. John gave her a gift and the love that our family will forever be grateful to him for. The happiness and joy Linzi experienced sitting on her farmhouse porch watching her chickens, ducks, quail, deer, and calves being born was truly a gift we are truly thankful to have been a part of. We were able to make many more wonderful memories of late night porch parties, in which Linzi could watch her grandbabies and babies play, and even do a little actin’ up herself with her sisters and Mamma (always one of our favorite past-times).
Linzi leaves behind four beautiful children who were her entire world and proudest accomplishments, Dallas Gaidge Duplantis, Sebastian Blake Duplantis, Brelin Jewell Duplantis, and Casen Michael Duplantis; one grandchild, Deaton Gray Duplantis; her parents, Sandra Dee Humbles (Charles Beck) and Michael Leslie Gott (Lisa); three siblings, Coley Gott, Aaron Gott (Cindi), and Hailee Beck (Rob), and two step-siblings, Brandon Ortego (Crystal) and Jessica Cormier (Clay). Linzi also leaves behind the Murphy family, including five bonus grandchildren, whom she adored as her own, Weston, Jackson, Beau, Oliver, and Desmund and multiple nieces and nephews whom she loved unconditionally and as her own.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Glenn and Janette Miller; maternal grandparents, Reginald and Shirley Humbles; an aunt, Connie Gott, and a cousin, Barry Kirby.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Amber Durio with Heart of Hospice for her amazing support and care.
Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
