The next chance for rain in Southwest Louisiana is Wednesday as a cold front approaches the region with accompanying scattered showers and thunderstorms along and ahead of it.
National Weather Service Lake Charles Meteorologist Donald Jones said some of these storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall.
“Forecast conditions support a marginal risk of flash flooding with these storms,” he said.
Jones said there is a 5 percent chance of flash flooding with a 25-mile radius of any location across Southwest Louisiana on Wednesday.
“Behind the front, moderately cooler air will filter in for the end of the week with lows in the 50s and highs in the mid to upper 70s,” he said.
