Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry said the state broke multiple records during the Nov. 5 election.

The results of over 2 million votes were uploaded to the Secretary of State’s website in less than three hours. Nearly 850,000 voters cast their ballots early in-person, and over 100,000 of those were on the final day of early voting, breaking the records set in 2020.

Additionally, over 1 million voters also participated on Election Day.

“Louisiana has once again executed a safe and secure election,” Landry said. “With record numbers of voters showing up to vote early in-person and with all results uploaded in less than three hours of polls closing, I am pleased to say that this election went exceedingly well.”

“I want to thank Commissioner of Elections Sherri Wharton Hadskey and her team; our Clerks of Court and their staffs; our Registrars of Voters and their staffs; and the thousands of election commissioners across the state who were professional, courteous, and dedicated to delivering democracy to the people of Louisiana,” she said. “I also want to express my appreciation to the voters of Louisiana for making their voices heard, and the candidates who offered themselves for service.”
