Earlier today, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Leblanc Middle School in Sulphur, in reference to a student found with a “hit list.”
Spokesperson Kayla Vincent said during the investigation the 12-year-old girl admitted to making the list.
She was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with terrorizing-menacing.
“We have zero tolerance when it comes to threatening behavior towards or at our schools,” stated Sheriff Stitch Guillory. “Whether it is said in anger or as a joke, all threats will be taken seriously and investigated fully and an arrest will be made when warranted.”
The Calcasieu Parish School Board assisted in the investigation, Vincent said.
