Judith L. Daughenbaugh, 90 of Morton, Ill., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, Ill.

Her memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Normal with Pastors Kent and Kathy King-Nobles officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service. A private family inurnment will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Normal, Preacher’s Aid Society & Benefit Fund of Springfield, Ill., The Baby Fold of Normal or Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, Ill.

Judith was born in Sulphur, La. on April 14, 1934, a daughter of Clayton and Evelyn (Savant) Lacy. She married Howard Daughenbaugh on Dec. 22, 1955, in Lake Charles, La.

Judith is survived by her husband, Howard; their two children, Clayton (Lisa) Martin-Daughenbaugh, Chicago, Ill. and Karen (Riki) Strunk, Morton, Ill.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa (Jared Guede) Strunk, Luke Daughenbaugh, and Sam Daughenbaugh, along with two great-grandchildren, Tessa and Hudson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Perkins.

Judith graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University with her bachelor’s in business education. She was a substitute teacher in Business Education in Urbana High School in Urbana, Ill. and later worked for Holder Publishing Corporation in Bloomington, Ill.

She is a member of First United Methodist Church of Normal. She received lifetime memberships in the Women’s Society of Christian Service and its successor organization, the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the League of Women Voters in Charleston, Ill.

Judith was a wonderful, caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
