David Michael Chimeno, 73, of Lake Charles passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 in a local care facility.

David was born on Oct. 21, 1950 in Lake Charles where he lived all of his life and was a 1969 graduate of Lake Charles High School.  He began his career in radio as a DJ at KLOU, where he became known as “Ron Riley.” His passion for broadcasting led him to a six-year stint with KPLC, where he honed his skills in broadcast engineering. In 1992, he returned to his first love—radio—delighting listeners with his unique ability to connect with people through music until his retirement, when he chose to embrace the tranquility of rainy days.

Although not an avid traveler, when a destination was chosen his preferred way to travel was by the train.  He was also a fan of classic television, often found enjoying episodes of “I Love Lucy” or laughing along with Johnny Carson. A true tinkerer at heart, he took joy in creating and fixing things, embodying a spirit of curiosity and creativity.
