Louisiana granted additional $144M for Ida, Laura relief

Louisiana will receive an additional $144,330,926.38 in funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in relief for Hurricanes Ida and Laura.
In Southwest Louisiana, the Calcasieu Parish School Board will receive $11,580,439.82 for management costs associated with Laura and $1,078,139.37 for repairs to LeBleu Settlement Elementary School.
The Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative will receive $10,204,970.40 for repairs to its Fulton substation; $9,677,278.80 for the Grand Chenier substation; $9,642,092.40 for the Creole Bulk substation; $6,539,291.10 for the restoration of the Calcasieu Ship Channel station; $19,566,005.40 for restoration of the Venture Global substation; $10,412,638.20 for the Johnson Bayou substation; and $5,936,168.70 for the Holly Point metering substation.
“Years later, our communities are still recovering from Ida and Laura. We’ve made progress, but there’s still work to do,” U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La. “This funding will return many to wholeness and prepare us to weather the next storm.”
