Carlton  Dale Jones

Carlton Dale Jones, 61, of DeQuincy, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024. He was born to his late parents, Carlton L. and Clarice Jones on Nov. 6, 1962 in DeQuincy, La. He attended Regina Caeli School and graduated from Barbe High School in 1985. Dale was a basketball manager for Barbe, and was a part of the Sheriff’s Posse Equestrian Riding Club. He was an invaluable member of the Dixie Youth Baseball. He was a member of the DeQuincy High School Football Chain Gang. Dale was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8805, assisting with calling Bingo, BBQ’s, and fundraisers. Dale was a security guard for CCD on Wednesday and took pride in that. He was a country boy, and loved working with his dad, working cows, bailing hay, and anything else that was needed. If anyone needed any help, Dale was always there to lend a helping hand.

Dale is survived by his sisters, Cheryl (Scott) Brown, Theresa (Danny) Heard; and one brother, Frank L. Jones. Also left to cherish his memory are his caregiver, Richonda Noble; former caregiver, Shelia Mahaffey; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlton L. and Clarice Jones; and both paternal and maternal grandparents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in DeQuincy on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at 11 a.m., with Father Korey LaVergne officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Cursillo Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 9 a.m. until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park Cemetery (formerly DeQuincy Memorial Park Cemetery).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church or the Sharon Mueller Thanksgiving Basket Ministry.
