The Chennault International Airshow scheduled for Oct. 24-26, 2025 has been canceled.

The decision to cancel was made due to an inability to reach an agreement with the event venue, according a statement to the American Press from the Board of Directors of Chennault International Airshow.

“The proposed agreement led to increased costs and overly restrictive rules and regulations that differed greatly from those required of previous airshow operations,” the statement reads.

The board said the decision was not made lightly and the panel took into consideration trusted counsel provided by the International Council of Airshows and several airshow operators and experts located in major markets across the country.

“We understand the disappointment that this may cause the Southwest Louisiana community and feel it as well. As a 501(c)(3), our mission remains to support STEM education in our community, and we will make every effort to plan for another exciting aviation event in the future,” the statement reads. “The airshow team extends their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all who have supported the show over the past 10 years. We will be back!”

Kevin Melton, executive director of Chennault International Airport, said he regrets learning of the airshow board’s decision to cancel the 2025 event.
“We remain supportive of continuing the airhow,” Melton said.
