It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Lee Ballance Sr. announces his passing on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at the age of 78.

Donald L. Ballance Sr., a man whose presence filled the lives of so many with love, laughter, and joy was born on Jan. 7, 1946, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Basil L. Ballance and Lucille Moreau Ballance.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of VFW Post 2730. A natural tinkerer, Donald had a passion for fixing and repurposing things, from machinery to creating special items for his family, like a restored wooden highchair for his great-granddaughter. A man of simple joys, he loved his morning coffee at KD’s with friends or on his patio watching the squirrels and birds while savoring the peacefulness of nature.
