Freida L. Waller, 89, of Lake Charles, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, at her residence with members of her loving family by her side. She was born on Aug. 31, 1935, in Worms, Germany to Edward and Elizabeth Hempel. Freida met the love of her life, Charles E. Waller, and wed him in 1957 while he was stationed in Germany serving in the U.S. Army. After their marriage, they moved to Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.
She was kind and compassionate to all she took care of and never met a stranger. She always had a smile and loved life more than herself. She was also a Chef and studied Culinary Arts in Switzerland. Her talent at cooking was truly an art form and if you were lucky enough to taste her cooking it was one you would not soon forget.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter, Dorothy Waller; sons, James Waller, Jessie Waller and wife Dena, Ray Waller, Phillip Shell and wife Katie; sister, Bertha Christ; brother, Richard Hempel; four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Charles E. Waller.
