L. Joseph Adams, age 77, of Lake Charles, La. passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024. Joe was born in Kaplan, La.
Joe’s number one love was God, his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. Joe enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was amazing at the craft of woodworking. He retired from Bell South as a Service Technician after 33 years of service.
Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Tessia Adams; son, David Adams; son, Garry Shuff; his mother, Gladys Whatley and husband, Eugene; his father, Bernice Adams, and a brother, Tommy Whatley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianne Adams; children, Brian Adams (Melissa), Nicole Vassar, Tonia Vidrine (Charles), Larry Shuff (Danielle), and Donna Elkins (Kenny); grandchildren, Ty, Payton, John, Joey, Jude, Hannah, Shayna, Hunter, Luke, Ashton, Amber, Layni, Ashley, Megan, and Lexy; brothers, Mike Whatley (Dianna) and Kenny Whatley (Tina); sister-in-law, Ramona Whatley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024 at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. and visitation will resume at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff with Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Burial will follow in Old Ritchie Cemetery.
