Robert “Lamar” McDonald Jr., 81, a resident of Denham Springs, La., passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2024, after a wonderful and full life.  He was born Oct. 27, 1942, in Lake Charles, La. to Robert Lamar McDonald Sr. and Helen Haley McDonald. Lamar was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. 

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, Jeanette Coody McDonald; his daughters, Kim McDonald of Angie, La., Stacy Brewer and husband, James of Austin, Texas, and Lori Stears and husband, Brandon, of Denham Springs, La.;  step-children, Michelle Foster and husband, Tony,  of Anna, Texas, and Aaron Spruill of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Brooke Marlow and husband, Ricky, Bryce Brewer and wife, Lindsay and Bailey Brewer and fiancé, Justin Arismendez, Braydon and Haley Stears; step-granddaughter, Stephanie and husband, Glynn Hickox, Bryce Foster and his wife, Rayn; four great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lamar McDonald Sr. and Helen Haley McDonald, and wife, Patricia Ann McDonald.  

The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024 from 12 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
