Joan Alice Ogden

Joan Alice Stelly Ogden, 77, a resident of Moss Bluff passed from this life peacefully on Aug. 3, 2024.
Joan will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. She was an Army wife and stood by her husband throughout his military career. She was very active throughout her life and loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking seafood dishes, hosting holidays for her family, and spending time with her family. She was the matriarch of her family and was the glue that held them together. A devout catholic, Joan was an active member of St. Theodores Catholic Church.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur George Ogden Jr., and her parents, Hubert Paul and Millie Frederick Ogden.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tanya Ogden Landry and husband, Richard, Jeri Miller and husband, Jeffery, Andrea Ogden, and significant other, Chris Alcock; her 10 grandchildren, Heather Perez, Brittany Morvant, Christopher Smith, Dustyn Smith, Stephanie Guerrero, Martika Miller, Cord Miller, Mikayla Miller, Victoria Miller, and Robert Janice Jr.; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Jeffery Stelly and wife, Sharon, Karen Roger and husband, Robert, and Jeannie Potier and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, from 9 a.m. until 10:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. at Saint Theodores Catholic Church in Moss Bluff. The Rev. Aubrey Gilbeau is to officiate. Burial will follow at Gueydan Cemetery in Gueydan, La.
