Cody Ryan Goode, 29, was born Nov. 11, 1994, in DeRidder, La. and passed away July 12, 2024, in Beauregard Parish in an automobile accident with his future father-in-law, Butch Burgess. Cody loved to rodeo. He was the 2014 Champion Bareback Rider. Not only did he participate in bareback riding, but he also rode bulls. Cody loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his cousins and family.

He is survived by his parents, Don and Theresa Goode; siblings, James Goode and Teri, Randall Goode and wife, Charlie Ann; fiance’, Kaitlyn “Katie” Latisha Burgess; grandmother, Clarita Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, along with Heath and Kendalyn Furr.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Charlie Smith; paternal grandparents, Buddy and Emma Goode; cousins, Tony Abriell Seal and Caleb Blake Smith, and future mother-in-law, Angie Burgess.

Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at First United Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith Street, DeQuincy, La. Visitation will continue from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, 172 Cherry Grove Rd, Dry Creek, La. Interment to follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Dry Creek, La.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
