Neva Young Veron passed away Sunday morning, June 7, 2024 at her residence at Villa Maria Retirement Home.  Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a ceremony by the Nurses Honor Guard. A recitation of the rosary will begin at 1 p.m.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Allen” Young, and her second husband, Louis Veron; her parents, Sidney and Marie (Soileau) Tremie; her sister, Helen Tremie Manuel and her brother, James Tremie.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Peggy (Dennis) Cormier of Spring, Texas; Jenny (Keith) Bertrand of Lafayette; Laura (Matt) Pitre of Beaumont, Texas, and Catherine (Tony) Aguillard of Moss Bluff.  Remembering her with love are her nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer thanks to the staff at Villa Maria with special thanks to her sitters. The family would also like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
