Deola Marie Johnson Guillory, 92, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Lake Charles, La. Born on Jan. 19, 1932, in Basile, La., to Lawrence and Annie Johnson, Deola lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication.

Growing up in Basile, La., Deola later married the love of her life, Wilfred Guillory. Together, they moved to Chloe, La., and then settled in Lake Charles, where they built a beautiful life. Deola worked in many local school cafeterias and retired as the Cafeteria Manager at F.K. White Middle School. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Margaret Catholic Church until 1991, and thereafter, she attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Her commitment to her Catholic faith was evident through her active participation in the Catholic Daughters, her unyielding prayer life, and the many candles she lit for others.

A loving wife and mother, Deola found immense joy in her family. Her home was often filled with the warmth of home-cooked meals, laughter, and love. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her loved ones. Deola and Wilfred shared many cherished evenings dancing to French music at the VFW Hall, their laughter and joy often resonating with those around them.
