James Anthony Sullivan, born on April 2, 1956, in Orleans, France, passed away June 2, 2024, in Akron, Ohio, at the age of 68.

James leaves behind his sisters, Toni (Rick) Schermerhorn of DeRidder, La., and Anna Sullivan of Westminster, Colo.; nieces, Krista (Sam) Nelson of West Monroe, La., and Molly (Brad) McCormick of Ruston, La. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Ava Katherine and Stella Lee Nelson; Lilah Sha Taunton, Onyx Bradley and Leif Sullivan McCormick.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Katherine Sullivan

James will be remembered for his uncanny intelligence, sarcastic wit, his love of history and books and for his selfless humanitarian gift to The Ohio State University – College of Medicine.

A memorial service to honor James will be held at a later date in Columbus, Ohio.
