No foul play is suspected in the death of a man whose body was found last Wednesday in a storage shed in the backyard of a Jennings residence.
Jennings Police Chief Danny Semmes said Monday a preliminary investigation indicates the 36-year-old man, who had no known address and was believed to be homeless, likely died of a drug overdose.
The badly decomposed remains were found in an outside shed after police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Second Street in reference to an unresponsive person. Investigators said, based on the state of decomposition, that the body may have been there three to five days.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, Semmes said.
