LAKE CHARLES– Eric Hardin Box, age 51, of Lake Charles, La. passed away suddenly on April 11, 2024, from a medical condition.  He was known as generous and caring by his many friends and relatives.

Eric was born on Oct. 7, 1972, to Selma and Juett Box in Alexandria, La.  He attended high school in Baton Rouge, La.  

Eric enjoyed all outdoor activities including hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.  He also loved animals and cared for many pets of all types over the years.  Eric was always extremely generous with his time and willing to help his family and friends whenever they needed it. Eric was also a skilled carpenter and mechanic.  He had a wonderful sense of humor, was a great storyteller, and everyone who got to know him instantly liked him.  

Eric was the youngest of four siblings and is survived by his sisters, Alexa, Kendra, and Stephanie.  He is also survived by his mother, Selma Sullivan of Lake Charles; step-father, Earl Broussard, and his longtime girlfriend, Kim Fontenot.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
