Patline McCauley Esthay

Patline McCauley Esthay, 87, of Moss Bluff, La., passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her residence. Pat was born April 8, 1937, in Mamou, La. to Patrick and Martha McCauley. She met and married the love of her life, Roland Esthay, in 1954. They lived in Lake Charles until they moved to Moss Bluff in 1972 where they raised their family. Pat worked as a secretary at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Moss Bluff for many years. Pat and her husband opened the first shoe store in Moss Bluff in 1979, Esthay’s Thom McAn’s. Pat and Roland were married for 58 years when Roland passed away in 2012. Pat enjoyed listening and dancing to French music.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah Esthay Mayfield and husband, Kevin ,from Pearland, Texas; son, Karl Esthay and wife, Debbie Phillips Esthay, from Moss Bluff; brother, Jimmy McCauley, and Leola of Mandeville, La.; grandchildren, Tiffani Dunn Laverell and husband, Justin, from Angleton, Texas, Brooke Mayfield Weddle and husband, Brad, of Angleton, Texas, Hunter Esthay and wife, Miranda, of Moss Bluff, Kameron Esthay and wife, Sheridan, of Waco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Peyton, and Westin Laverell, Kennedy Weddle, and Holland and Mauri Esthay; brothers-in-law, Terry Esthay and wife, Bessie, and Wilbert Esthay and wife, Jenny.
She was preceded in death by husband, Roland; parents, Patrick and Martha McCauley; sisters, Winnie McCauley Picard, Bossett McCauley Reed, Dean McCauley Hoffpauir, and Wilda McCauley Smith.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her sitters, Stella Carter and Kayla Ryans, for the compassionate and loving care they took of her in the last couple of years.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Rev. Larry Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Black Bayou Cemetery.
