Roumay Olivier Jr., age 86, passed away peacefully March 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Lake Charles, La., Roumay was the son of Roumay Olivier Sr. and Edith Olivier.

Roumay proudly served his country in the Navy, where he honed his skills in underwater welding and pipe fitting during the aftermath of the Korean War reconstruction and cleanup efforts.

Roumay found joy in fishing, crabbing, riding horses, and enjoying trail rides. He also enjoyed cooking and barbecuing for his family. However, his true happiness stemmed from being surrounded by his grand kids.

Roumay is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Hattie Olivier; his daughters, Renae Brownlee and Sandra Russel; his sons, Roumay Olivier III, Schuyler Ray Olivier, and Michael Dion Olivier.

Roumay was preceded in death by his parents, Roumay and Edith Olivier; his sisters, Betty Cook and Shirley Cole, and his beautiful daughter, Eboni (Olivier) Perkins, and her son, Hunter Perkins.

Funeral services to honor Roumay’s life will be Saturday, April 13, 2024, Rosary and viewing of the body at 9 a.m. at Combre Funeral Home. Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church. Roumay’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
