James “Randy” Randall Jarmon

James “Randy” Randall Jarmon, age 65, of Kingwood, Texas passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1958 in Alice, Texas to Robert and Vernie Jarmon. He grew up in Corpus Christi Texas; Midland, Texas; and Lake Charles, La. where he graduated from Barbe High School in 1976. He attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated in 1983 with a B.S. degree in Professional Aviation.
Randy began his aviation career for Royal Airlines in Lake Charles and eventually flew Continental and United Airlines and achieved his dream of flying the 787 Dreamliner from Houston to Australia and Europe.
Randy and his wife Dru Tatum Jarmon lived in Guam, and Houston where he continued his aviation career. He worked in the Training Department as Simulator and Line Check Airman on the 737 for United, was also LEC Chairman of Council 178 and became a Federal Flight Deck Officer after 911.
Randy was one of those extraordinary people who never met a stranger always had a smile and never gave up. He had a passion for his family, flying, and teaching as well as for karate in which he earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt, and he was also an avid golfer with a 70 handicap.
Survivors include his wife Dru Tatum Jarmon of Kingwood, Texas; son, Christopher Betbeze Jr.; grandsons, CJ and Ray Betbeze of Lake Charles; his sister, Sherry Brown of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Monty Montgomery of Tennessee; as well as his many nieces, nephews and in-laws as well as his cats; Winston, Hazel and Salem. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Robert Michael Jarmon.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3:30 p.m.
