Rhett Joseph Miller, age 46, of Paola, Kan. passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024. He was born on July 26, 1977 in Lake Charles, La. to Tim Miller and Sherry Hodges Miller. 

Rhett was a resident of Lake Charles throughout his childhood where he attended St. Margaret and St. Louis Catholic Schools. He was on the the Lake Charles Junior Olympics boxing team. Rhett had a passion for fishing and deer hunting. He was employed as a service technician at Auto-Chlor System in Kansas and he was proud member of Living Proof Church in Paola, Kan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Tim Miller and wife, Cheryl; sister, Renee’ Belcher and husband, Dan, of Spring Hill, Kan.; step-brothers, Ben and Luke Grimmett; companion, Katie Schumacher, and her daughters, Leighton and Miley.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Miller; maternal grandparents, J.L. Hodges and wife, Lettie, of Ragley, La.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Friday, April 5, 2024 beginning at 12 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to be held at 2 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jace Eskind of St. Martin De Pores Catholic Church will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
