Hebert named board secretary
The Lake Charles Regional Airport announces that Amelia Hebert was recently elected secretary of the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Airport Managers and Associates at their quarterly membership meeting.
Hebert is the marketing and business development manager at Lake Charles Regional Airport and will serve a two- year term as the secretary of LAMA.
Hebert is a graduate of McNeese and has worked at the Lake Charles regional Airport since 2015 starting as a paid intern before working her way into management of the commercial airport.
The Louisiana Airport Managers and Associates is a professional membership organization representing the interest of airports and aviation for the state of Louisiana.
Hale president of LOA
Dr. Steven Hale, orthopaedic surgeon with the Center for Orthopaedics, was installed as President of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association at their 2024 Annual Meeting in New Orleans this month.
Hale is originally from Lake Charles and has 15 years of experience in his field. He earned his Medical Degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his orthopaedic residency at The Campbell Clinic in Memphis.
Hale joined the Center for Orthopaedics in 2009 and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a member of the Council on Legislation within the Louisiana State Medical Society.
He specializes in joint replacement surgery, including robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement; sports medicine; knee surgery; shoulder surgery; hip surgery; fracture care; orthobiologics and arthritis treatment. He is a physician partner in the Joint Replacement Center of Louisiana, which opened last year in Lake Charles.

WCCH assumes Schlamp clinic
SULPHUR — The West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital Board of Commissioners has approved a resolution authorizing WCCH to assume operation of Schlamp Family Medical Clinic, honoring a commitment that upholds Dr. Schlamp’s vision for his clinic.
Patients of Schlamp Family Medical Clinic can expect a seamless transition, with continued access to the medical professionals and services they have come to rely on and trust. The clinic will continue to staff its three nurse practitioners: Emily Scuderi, FNP-C, Maureen Poe, FNP-C and Angie Ewalt, FNP-C.
The clinic will be supported by collaborating primary care physician Jody George, MD, of the Family Care Center of SWLA and member of the WCCH medical staff until Dr. J. L. Sepulvado joins Schlamp Family Medical Clinic as the primary care provider in August.

Hospital opens renovated lab
Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital is celebrating the opening of its newly renovated gastroenterology lab, representing a significant investment in the area.
The renovated lab is equipped with endoscopic technology, allowing medical experts to perform minimally invasive procedures for patients needing treatment for various GI conditions.
“This newly renovated gastroenterology lab is a game-changer for our patients,” said Bailey Bruchhaus, gastroenterology and pulmonary lead registered nurse at the hospital.
