Police: Man attempted to take ex-girlfriend, her vehicle by knifepoint

Jennings police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man who attempted to take his ex-girlfriend and her vehicle at knifepoint Sunday at the local Walmart store.
Jennings police said they responded to Walmart Sunday in reference to an armed robbery in progress.
During the investigation, officers learned that the suspect identified as Charles Woods Jr, threatened the female victim with a knife before forcing her into the vehicle and attempting to leave the parking lot.
The victim was able to jump from the moving vehicle and run into the store, but was followed by Woods.
Woods later fled in a 2006 white Chrysler Pacifica with license plate number 143GHU.
Woods is wanted on charges of armed robbery; false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon; aggravated domestic abuse battery; carjacking; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; reckless operation; hit and run; disturbing the peace and unauthorized use of a movable.
