Cassidy: $21.7M in FEMA money granted to La. parishes

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy said Louisiana will receive $21,779,074.77 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Ida, and severe winter storm relief.
“Louisiana is a beacon of strength and resilience through any storm,” Cassidy said. “This funding will help our communities return to wholeness and better prepare for the next one.”
As part of this latest funding package, the Calcasieu Parish School Board will receive $1,094,352.33 for damages to the College Oaks Elementary School as a result of Hurricane Laura.
Beauregard Parish will receive $1,744,602.99 for Hurricane Laura repairs.
The Office of Risk Management will receive $1,674,085.63 for statewide building repairs as a result of severe winter storm.
Jefferson Parish will receive two grants — one for $2,203,374.65 and the other for $12,849,079.42 — for emergency protective measures as a result of Hurricane Ida.
The Terrebonne Levee & Conservation District is set to receive $2,213,579.75 for permanent work to the Petit Caillou Floodgate due to Hurricane Ida.
