Ralph Hardy

Ralph Hardy, born in Iowa, La. on Jan. 22, 1938, son of the late Asa and Matile (Marcantel) Hardy, passed away in a local hospital on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at the age of 86.
Ralph was a graduate of Lacassine High School and was a rice farmer. He was a board member for Jeff Davis Farm Bureau, faithful member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus 3006. Ralph enjoyed listening to Cajun music, cutting grass, gardening, and loved to dance. He loved his grandbabies, and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Amber Hardy; siblings, Dudley Hardy, Ray Hardy, Willie Hardy, and Diane Fontenot.
Left to cherish wonderful memories are his wife of 66 years, Gertrude Hardy; children, Michael Hardy, Kevin Hardy (Sharla), Deidre Begnaud (David), Michelle Lee, Myron Hardy (Katrina); siblings, Daniel Hardy, Laura Gotreaux, Eugene Hardy (Elaine); grandchildren, Brittany Corbello (Lucas), Alex Begnaud (Jordan), Caroline Hardy, Christa Hardy, Leah Begnaud, Isabella Hardy, Audrey Hardy; great-grandchildren, Spencer Begnaud, Mia Corbello, Emmett Corbello, Owen Corbello, Ethan Corbello.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Raphael Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. Rev. Anthony Fontenot, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation will begin Wednesday in the Iowa KC Hall, 503 East Hwy 90, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., and will resume Thursday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers assisting in his service are David Begnaud, Alex Begnaud, Lucas Corbello, Bryan Singletary, Charlie Bourne, and Johnny Guillory. Honorary Pallbearers are Allen Hardy and Russell Hardy.
