Funeral Service for Pastor Jimmy R. Stevens, 67, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 Trinity Baptist Church 1800 Country Club Road. Pastor Paul D. Stevens Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Stevens’ Funeral Home. He will be Lying in State (Viewing) on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at New Covenant Faith Baptist Church. Visitation Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church.
He was a native of the Mossville-Westlake Community and a resident of Lake Charles, La. Pastor Stevens was the founding Pastor of the New Covenant Faith Baptist Church in 2004 at 2233 12th Street.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Willie (Rose) Stevens.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 40 years, Sister Patricia Stevens; daughter, Jamie Patrice Stevens Harrison; son in law, JJ Harrison; grandsons, Jeremiah Patrick Stevens and newly born, Jaxson and Jayson Harrison. He was also known as Paw Paw Jimmy to Jru Tanner, Jayden, McKenzie, and Jailyn Harrison. His siblings, brothers, Charles W. Stevens (Malinda), Rev. Dr. Paul D. Stevens Sr. (Belinda), Rev. Dr. Mitchell J. Stevens Sr. (Kerri), Anthony L. Stevens (LaTisha) and sisters, Bonita Malbrew (Donald) and Serena Goodwin (Chester). Host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family members. He would always say “That God is something else.”
