Members of the Krewe de Veiller were among several krewes from southwest Louisiana and Texas participating Saturday in the 24th annual Lake Arthur Mardi Gras parade. Those aboard the floats tossed lots of beads, candy, stuffed animals, t-shirts and other throws to the eager parade crowd.

LAKE ARTHUR – The Lake Arthur Mardi Gras Run and Parade will take place as scheduled on Saturday, rain or shine.

The run will begin at 9 a.m. from the Lake Arthur Park.

Chicken throws will be on Fox’s Road, Trailer Town Road and immediately following the parade at the Lake Arthur Park.

The parade rolls at 3 p.m. down Arthur Avenue.
