Delores Ann Vincent

Delores Ann Vincent, 87, of Lake Charles, La. passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born to her late parents, Daniel Hoffpauir and Mary Clement Harris on Oct. 8, 1936 in Sulphur, La. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, sewing, and crafts. She played many important roles in supporting the family’s small welding business of over 30 years until it’s closing in 1991. In her later years, she worked for Sam’s Club where she retired after 13 years of service. She was a faithful caregiver and provider to her husband, Shelton, for 23 years after he was no longer able to work, from 1991 until his passing in 2014. Most of all, Delores loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her son, Monte Vincent (Patty) of Prosper, Texas; daughter, Kala Phillips (David) of Lake Charles, La.; two grandchildren, Natalie Phillips (Brad) and Hannah Phillips (Artellus); along with three great-grandchildren, Kaiah Bellard, Bray Bellard, and Drixz Collins. She is also survived by her two brothers, Ray Hoffpauir and Ronald Harris. 

Delores is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 63 years, Shelton Vincent, and her two children, Anita Lynn Vincent and Vicky Diane Vincent. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Jay Hoffpauir.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, La. on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024 at 1 p.m., with Father John Welch officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024 beginning at 10 a.m. until the rosary at 11 a.m., follow by the procession to the church for a 1 p.m. Mass. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, La. 

She was devoted to her family above all else. She believed in compassion, kindness, patience, and forgiveness. She called on these strengths to help others through their hardship, as well as in her own times of tragedy.
