A GoFundMe page has been launched to help the family of a Pitkin man who was killed in a New Year’s Eve accident in Vernon Parish.

The GoFundMe for Eric Robinson said the 30-year-old left behind his wife and four children.

Karington Johnson, who created the fundraiser on behalf of Robinson’s wife, Kaitlin, said on the GoFundMe page that Kaitlin is navigating life the best she can, while still caring for their four children.

“We are reaching out via GoFundMe and asking for all of your support for this precious family during this time,” Johnson wrote on the donation page. “Eric was the main part of his family’s income, so all of these funds will have an enormous impact for his wife and children throughout this difficult period of loss.”

She continued, “Kaitlin has been a stay-at-home mother and wife, and we know anything you can contribute will be greatly cherished and appreciated.”

As of Thursday, donations totaled more than $7,970.

Robinson was killed in the single-vehicle rollover crash that happened just after 5 a.m. Sunday on La. 113 and Earnest Thompson Road, just east of Pitkin in Vernon Parish.

Robinson was traveling north on La. 113 when he drove off the roadway and traveled through a ditch before overturning.

Robinson, who was unrestrained, suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. He later died from his injuries in an area hospital.
