Charles Edward Strahan

Charles Edward Strahan, 73, of Montgomery, La.passed away at 8:04 PM on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024 in an Alexandria hospital.

Mr. Strahan was born on July 2, 1950 in Lake Charles and was raised in Iowa where he attended Iowa High School.  He spent most of his life residing in Beauregard Parish before moving to Montgomery, La. to enjoy retirement on the lake.  Mr. Strahan retired from Conoco as an operator and machinist.

He enjoyed the outdoors where he could hunt and fish and take astonishing photos of birds and wildlife.  Mr. Strahan also had the talent of playing the guitar which he took great pleasure in.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Janet Strahan of Montgomery, La.; a son, Stephen Strahan of Moss Bluff; sister, Jackie McDonald (Mike) of Longville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Charles Strahan; a brother, Frank Strahan; and his maternal grandmother, Priscilla Cummings.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Moss Bluff.  Family member, Neal Richard, will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in New Ritchie Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
