Are you ready to take on the new year and improve your reading, math, and writing skills in 2024? The Literacy Council of SWLA is here to help you achieve your goals.
A WorkReadyU and United Way agency, the council offers free classes for adults who want to take their HISET or improve their reading, writing, math, and spelling abilities. They also provide ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to help individuals who are relocating to our area and need to learn English.
Experienced and qualified instructors offer small group classes to ensure that you receive individualized attention. Both in-person and online classes are offered.
Register now for our spring session starting on Jan. 16. The council test new students every Tuesday. Testing and classes are held at 401 W First St. in DeRidder.
Call 337-494-7000, email info@literacyswla.org, or visit www.literacyswla.org to register for free classes. The council also provide free bus tokens to help with transportation needs.
