Geneva Marie Fontenot Window, 77, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Window was born on Jan. 4, 1946 in Ville Platte where she was raised and graduated from Ville Platte High School.  She moved to Lake Charles in 1969 where she began a career at the Children’s Clinic for over 20 years as a clerk.  Mrs. Window was a devoted and dedicated member of Christ the King Catholic Church.  She served on the Ladies Altar Society and was involved in the ACTS community.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and spending time with family at the hunting lease.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 38 years, John J. Window III; son, Kevin Fontenot (Michelle); stepchildren, Mark Window (Melanie), Johnny Window, Kevin Window (Lisa), and Brent Window; siblings, Kim Fontenot (Denise), Gloria Buller (Butch), Donna Perrodin (Randy), and Tracy Ware (Clyde); nine grandchildren, Lindsey Harris (Herman), Tyler Fontenot (Brooke), Kelsey Frank (William), Zachary Fontenot (Victoria), Abbie Fontenot (Coltin), Justin, Rayan, Aaron, and Emma Fontenot; six step-grandchildren, Christi Schirmer (Matt), Dayna, Elizabeth, Phillip, Ava, and Blake Window; three great-grandchildren, and 12 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Troy Fontenot; an infant daughter; and parents, Emilie and Dewey Fontenot.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Father Rougeau will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday from 9 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.
