Southeastern Louisiana head football coach Frank Scelfo vehemently denied his team had any information given to them about McNeese State prior to the teams meeting Nov. 4 in Hammond.

Calling any reference to that “bull,” Scelfo said he knows nothing about the situation or any of the people involved.

“We did nothing of the sort,” Scelfo said. “It had nothing to do with Southeastern.”

McNeese says it completed an in-house review to determine if practice and game information was hacked or leaked from its online system.

The 10-page report revealed that from May to November a McNeese coach’s internet protocol address was used in Greenville, North Carolina, to access videos.

The investigation began after the Cowboys lost 38-24 to the Lions.

“Our kids came off the field and said they knew our plays and were yelling them out by the exact names almost before we had them relayed,” second-year Cowboys head coach Gary Goff said. “That got our attention.”

That prompted McNeese to change its method of calling plays, using huddles and wristbands to call plays.

McNeese finished the season 1-10 with the lone win by forfeit.
