Michael David Broussard, 75, of Lake Charles died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023 at Harbor Hospice of Lake Charles.  Michael was born on Oct. 19, 1948 in Lake Charles, La. where he was raised.  He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and attended McNeese State University.  Mr. Broussard retired from Citgo Refinery where he worked for 37 years as a boilermaker.  

He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who loved fishing and gardening.  He also coached recreational little league baseball for many years.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Emma Vincent Broussard of Lake Charles; his sons, Leslie Broussard and wife, MaryAnn, of Lake Charles and Jeramie Broussard and wife, Michelle, of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Brooke and Madelyn, Broussard of Lake Charles, Jase, Caroline, and Elizabeth Broussard, of Lafayette; and sister, Rose Broussard Bohannon, of Moss Bluff. 

He was preceded in his death by his parents, Levi and Doris Bray Broussard, of Lake Arthur; son, Christopher Broussard of Lake Charles, and brother, John Broussard, of Lake Charles.  

An intimate memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the family’s home at a later date.  

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
