Texas man arrested for human trafficking

A 40-year-old Houston man has been arrested after the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division initiated an investigation into human trafficking.

Louisiana State Police Trooper Sgt. Derek Senegal said Jarvis Renfro was found to have recruited multiple females for engaging in explicit acts in exchange for monetary gain. As the investigation progressed, LSP GED discovered Renfro and the female victims were residing at a local casino.

On Thursday Renfro was interviewed and subsequently apprehended for his involvement in human trafficking. In addition to this charge, he also faced allegations of promoting prostitution, inciting prostitution, and soliciting for prostitutes. Renfro was then taken into custody and booked at the CalcasieuCorrectional Center, with his bond set at $575,000.
